After two decades building partner ecosystems at HPE, IBM, and HP Inc., I've joined Katonic AI to lead partner sales and go-to-market. This is my first time at a startup, and people have asked me why I made the leap.
The short answer: I've never seen a company this well-positioned to help partners win in the AI era.
Here's the longer version.
What 22 Years in Partner GTM Taught Me
I've spent my career across Asia Pacific and Japan, helping partners build businesses around enterprise technology. I've led alliance GTM, integrated marketing, ABM programs, and analytics functions. I've worked with hyperscalers, OEMs, system integrators, and distributors.
Along the way, I've learned what partners are tired of:
Complex technology that's hard to demo
If a partner can't show value in 30 minutes, they won't invest in enablement. If the solution requires three vendors and a six-month integration project, they'll pass.
Messaging they can't differentiate
Every vendor claims to be "AI-powered" and "enterprise-ready." Partners need a story they can own, not a pitch deck they have to explain.
"Partnerships" that don't drive pipeline
Joint business plans that sit in a drawer. Co-marketing funds with no execution support. MDF programs that require more paperwork than the deal is worth.
When I started exploring what's next, I wasn't looking for another role at a large enterprise. I was looking for technology that solves these problems, not creates them.
That search led me to Katonic.
Why Katonic
The Product: Full-Stack Agents That Actually Ship
Most AI platforms give you the backend or the frontend. You get an agent framework but build the UI yourself. Or you get a copilot but can't customize the logic.
Katonic deploys Brain, Body, and Guardrails together in a single environment:
The Complete AI Agent Stack
Brain
The reasoning layer. Any framework (LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, Google ADK). Any model (250+ options, self-hosted or API). Switch models without changing code.
Body
The user-facing interface. AG-UI protocol for real-time state sync. Generative UI where agents render forms, charts, and actions dynamically.
Guardrails
Governance built in, not bolted on. MCP Gateway for secure tool connections. Complete audit trails. Human-in-the-loop approval workflows.
What does this mean for partners?
No stitching together three vendors. No nine-month integration projects. Agents that actually ship to production, not demos that sit in a lab.
For a partner trying to build an AI practice, this is the difference between "we can help you explore AI" and "we can deploy AI agents in 30 days."
The Service Provider Play: Sovereign AI Cloud
Here's what got me really excited.
White-Label AI Platform for Service Providers
Katonic has built a white-label platform that lets telcos, MSPs, and data centers launch their own branded AI services. Think about what that means:
AI Infrastructure (IaaS)
Scalable compute, storage, and networking for AI workloads
AI Platform (PaaS)
250+ models via unified API, development tools, MLOps
Agents-as-a-Service
Pre-built agents, marketplace, revenue share
All running on local infrastructure with full data sovereignty. For partners in regulated markets, or regions where data can't leave the country, this is exactly what enterprises and governments are asking for. The sovereignty premium alone is 20-40% over hyperscaler pricing.
I've spent years helping partners find differentiation. This is differentiation you can take to the bank.
The Proof: Production AI at National Scale
I'm a data person. I don't get excited about roadmaps. I get excited about results.
Here's what Katonic has already delivered:
ePLDT in the Philippines
The country's first sovereign AI solutions stack. Banks and government agencies as first tenants.
90 days to launch · 115 million people servedMODON in Saudi Arabia
AI Center of Excellence for Vision 2030. Foundation for smart manufacturing across industrial cities.
36+ industrial citiesMajor Taiwanese Bank
Air-gapped deployment meeting the strictest security requirements in financial services.
Fully air-gapped · Zero external connectivityThis isn't vaporware. It's production AI at national scale. When I can walk into a partner meeting and show deployments like these, the conversation changes. We're not selling potential. We're selling proof.
What I'll Be Doing
My mission is simple: build repeatable plays that help partners win.
Building the Partner Ecosystem
Working with our growing ecosystem of hyperscalers, SIs, and distributors to create:
The goal is to make Katonic the easiest AI platform for partners to sell, deploy, and support.
Why Now
The Window Is Open
The AI market is moving fast. Enterprises are shifting from experimenting with AI tools to building on AI platforms. They want agentic systems that complete work, not chatbots that answer questions.
At the same time, data sovereignty is becoming non-negotiable. Regulations are tightening. Enterprises want AI that runs on their infrastructure, governed by their policies, with their data staying where it belongs.
Katonic sits at the intersection of these trends: full-stack agents, open-source foundation, any cloud deployment, and true sovereignty.
For partners, the window to establish leadership in enterprise AI is now. The platforms that win the next 18 months will define the market for the next decade.
I've always believed partners are the multiplier. The right technology in the right hands can transform industries.
That's what gets me out of bed.
